Welcome to June!
June ushers us into a rare Eclipse season with three Eclipses in succession starting a New Moon and Partial Solar Eclipse in Gemini on June 1, 2011 at 9:02 PM UT. The truth is about to come tumbling out and this will be a month for ‘headlines.’
The next Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius occurs on June 15, 2011, followed by another Partial Solar Eclipse and Cancer New Moon on July 1, 2011, which triggers the Grand Cross now culminating in the sky.
The only thing constant in life is change. But there are times like the one we live which brings a whirlwind of change and the shifts seems a lot more profound and in your face. The month starts off intense and reaches a fever pitch as we lead into July, bringing us to a cross roads like few other’s in our lifetimes.
Eclipses tend to bring fated events aligning us with our greater destiny. It is a time when truth or reality seems to surface in a way that is undeniable and hard to escape from. But if we move with the changes consciously, we hold an incredible opportunity to influence events and direct the course of our future.
The houses in your chart represented by Gemini and Sagittarius is where you will see the greatest shifts occurring and the transition will complete around mid-2012 once the Nodes shift from Sagittarius-Gemini. As you enter the New Moon and Eclipse on June 1, 2011 let go of perception and go inward to clear your mind of destructive thoughts.
There is a sense of having to wipe the slate clean – perhaps with choices and decisions we have only recently made. But this is a gift and the planets are offering us a fresh start asking us to re-write rules and choose in the present based on the information and truth we are now learning. Success in relationships, both business and personal will depend on our ability to communicate and negotiate.
This is a greater story emerging, which first began to unfold around Dec. 21, 2010 (the first of this series of Eclipses in Gemini-Sagittarius) when a Full Moon in Gemini brought hugely important revelations to light and marking the end of a chapter.
But an end is always a beginning and now six months later we are at the beginning of a new chapter that can usher in peace, stability and harmony. It also forms an exact trine to Saturn (currently retrograde/stationary about to station direct) in Libra bringing is a solid aspect for a new start within relationships. We can choose to let go of the past and start over, but there can be no half-hearted effort.
It’s time to get real with your self and with important others. We can enter arrangements and agreements that are fairer, and support the needs of both people involved. But this will mean ASKING for what you need and listening to what another is saying. With the Gemini-Sagittarius axis in play, the emphasis is on truth and learning to communicate honestly, which could improve everything now.
With Mercury in Taurus communication may seem slow. But keep an open mind and not get too stuck in your opinions. With a little effort there can be renewed understanding, deepening of emotional bonds and an ability see both sides of the story, while staying centered in reality.
Perhaps the biggest shift of the month comes on June 4, 2011 as Jupiter enters Taurus and transits through the sign for a little over a year. This is a once in a decade transit and with Jupiter being the ruler of Sagittarius the current transiting North Node, there is a sense of grounding for our destiny in spite of the enormous changes take place especially within important commitments.
As Jupiter trines Pluto in Capricorn over the course of the coming year this is due to be a hugely protective and stabilizing influence. There is a sense of letting go of frills and getting back to basics and learning to be grateful for the simpler pleasures. If we want to unearth greater potential it may be time to let go of a superficial ambition to discover what success truly means to you. In this there can be a discovery of great abundance, deep personal fulfillment increasing ones self-worth. Be grateful for what you have and appreciate of the gifts you’ve been given therein lays the real treasure.
One of the most important aspects occurs as Ceres in Pisces forms a potent square to the North Node during these Eclipses. Any planet that squares the Nodes marks the resolution point for individual and collective destiny. Ceres is the asteroid that relates with nourishment and food. World hunger is a very real concern that seems to conveniently slip away unnoticed in the face of the more dramatic issues and the wars we are busy waging. With Jupiter entering Taurus, there is no need for starvation to continue to be a cause of death in this world.
There is enough food on this planet for those who are hungry to have two meals a day. But nothing will happen unless this becomes a priority and we use our energy to effectively distribute resources to those in need. Hopefully these Eclipses will mark a shift in global consciousness where we begin to use direct our attention towards this life and death issue.
Also on a symbolic level look at what you are feeding into this cycle or a situation. Only through love and compassion can there be healing. Withholding one’s energy, bliss or love only brings greater pain. Ceres was the goddess that even brought Pluto to his knees, and the whole world went into darkness, there was no life, nothing grew until Pluto returned Persephone to his mother. This is Universal energy, love and compassion that need to be shared or it can be a dark night of the soul for everyone.
On June 8, 2011 another major shift arrives as Chiron stations retrograde and removes backwards in Pisces until Nov. 15, 2011. Look at the part of your chart ruled by Pisces, there is a deep inner cleansing in effect in this area of your life. Be in no denial of your wounds, especially those suppressed deep in your psyche because they are too painful too deal with. These can seep unconsciously into ones being affecting choices and manifesting in chaos externally. But in awareness one can deal with the pain rather than project it. As Carl Jung once observed, until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
On this day the Sun in Gemini squares Juno in Virgo, pointing to a relationship or relationships we share. With Chiron turning retrograde and a square there can be a profound inner understanding of our own pain. Rather than focus on imperfections, if we maintain awareness enough we can turn a corner towards healing an important relationship.
On June 9th Jupiter exactly sextiles Neptune, Venus leaves her home sign Taurus and enters Gemini just at the Quarter Moon, marking a half-way point between Eclipses bringing us to a turning point. Venus transits through Gemini until July 4, 2011 when she enters Cancer. Gemini is not the easiest placement for Venus, but use the energy to communicate desires, rather than analyze them especially when it comes to love.
In the Tarot, the “Lovers” card in the Major Arcana is associated with the sign Gemini. In the Rider Waite depiction of this card we see two lovers that stand together but apart, with a higher spirit between them who seems to be reminding them of the choice of this holy union.
This image also shows us a reconciliation of opposites be it the sexes, or the inner masculine and feminine nature within. It is also a reminder that every relationship is a choice. And it is a choice we make daily and in every moment, to either honor or dishonor the union, with our actions, words and deeds.
But the two lovers are also a reminder that even in a relationship it is important not to lose one’s individuality. Only in honesty can there be true fidelity and respect – giving another the freedom and respect to make their own choices in awareness of the truth. Love is unconditional. Relationships are a choice. And as long as we withhold truth we rob another the precious ability to make their choices.
With Venus in Gemini there may even be a feeling of an important choice to be made between two people or “lovers” — past or potential. Choose not based on the past and the future, but the love that is true in your heart, which goes beyond mental definitions. This call for emotional honesty, with oneself primarily and with others.
Jupiter is Taurus and Saturn is Libra, both signs ruled by Venus — asking us to choose deep loyalty and commitment, over something shiny and new, or a passing fancy but ultimately hollow and transient; which would have us repeating the same patterns over again. Confront the ghosts of the past honestly, especially as Venus conjuncts the South Node towards the end of the month on Jun. 28, 2011 — expect this to be a point of deep release of the past so we can start over without dragging the memories, fear and resentment into our choices in the present. Only when we can accept both ‘good’ and ‘bad,’ pleasure and pain, and be there through thick and thin, can we form lasting bonds with another. Or we will keep running from one relationship to the next projecting the past on the future.
You can have important conversations or simply reflect on the the past, to renew your understanding of something that may have been painful — simply by looking at the other side of the story. It takes two to tango, so be in no denial of your role in the creation of a set of circumstances. Only then can you move forward without repeating the same patterns, with a renewal of understanding of an existing relationship and what it means to you, or something new.”
Be aware of subconscious wounds and expectations that have their roots in deep in the past, about how good or bad something in the present is, or has the potential to be. We are breaking through cultural, social and parental conditioning to discover a wider reality. Be true to your own heart and you can’t go wrong. The fact that a relationship or a situation is showing up in your life in this moment between Eclipses suggests it holds an important message for your souls evolution. Listen to what is coming through.
A significant shift comes on June 13th, 2011 when Saturn stations direct in Libra. Saturn stationed retrograde on Jan. 24, 2011. An important relationship, commitment, creative project or situation seemed to take a backseat at that time. With Saturn now stationary (at the end of its retrograde) we are feeling the weight of our commitments heavily.
We’ve been through a long and necessary period of regaining inner balance, and as Saturn resumes direct motion a situation looks set to move forward with a renewed understanding of what works and what doesn’t. Saturn has been in Libra since October 2009 teaching us the lessons of equality and boundaries in relationships. We will be done with these lessons around October 2010 when Saturn finally leaves Libra.
Also Venus in Gemini sextiles Uranus at the time of Saturn’s direct station suggests the truth will set us free. With the Moon in Scorpio, a situation is changing deeply asking us to let go of emotional baggage and painful attachments or our attachments to pain. Things can be different and easier, if we leave the past behind and march forward into a new chapter, renewing important commitments. This is also great energy for creative projects that have been incubating which can now begin to take on solid shape and form.
With Pluto in a T-square to Saturn and Uranus at this time – a lot of this has to do with breaking down and dismantling conditioning of the past and rules we’ve outgrown, to establish new healthier boundaries. And a situation will peak to resolution by July.
On June 15, 2011 a Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in culminates in Sagittarius showing us the gateway to freedom and our destiny. Very significantly the Moon will be conjunct the North Node and there may be a great desire to escape an oppressive situation while being racked with indecision. But the Moon is revealing an important truth and whether we acknowledge it or put on our blinders is a choice entirely left up to us.
Evolution demands emotional wisdom and communication will be key. Be extremely honest with yourself and others about your needs. With the Sun and Mercury conjunct the South Node, it may be tempting to choose the “safe” option. But the Moon is conjunct the North Node in Sagittarius — suggesting the way into the future and towards our destiny is asking us to be wise but to dare to take a leap of faith, rather than choose based in a fear of what could go wrong. There is no such thing as the wrong choice – the choice that ‘feels’ right is ‘right.’ And remember what you seek is freedom “to” express yourself or be yourself or do what you want, rather than seek to escape or want freedom “from” something.
The day after the Eclipse on June 16, 2011 Mercury enters and communication can get deeper. We are still under the energy of a powerful lunation and we can expect deep truths and insights to surface and percolate through our consciousness. But be conscious of your insecurities that prevent you from expressing your true feelings.
On June 18, 2011 Venus in Gemini trines Saturn in Libra suggesting financial and relationship negotiations are stabilizing. Even if it feels we’ve been trying unsuccessfully to shift something, there can be a sense of finding a balance, or finally getting through to someone it’s been near impossible to communicate with.
Especially within a relationship or an important financial situation there can be greater peace, understanding and a fair balance where everyone can be happy with a solution. Be creative and negotiate. Remember you can be right or happy, so compromise where you can and give way on little things as you focus on the common goal. Think win-win.
Through these first three weeks of June, Mars will be in Taurus (along with Jupiter.) A few ways this energy could manifest is a ravenous appetite for all things pleasurable from good sex, good food to the ability to accrue resources. There may be an increased desire for wanting a commitment – but this requires a great deal of patience to stay the course.
On June 21, 2011 Mars enters Gemini on the same day as the Sun enters Cancer and Mercury squares Saturn in Libra. People are feeling extremely sensitive and emotional, but anger is likely to only defeat your purpose when what you seek is understanding and acceptance. With the Sun forming a trine to Neptune at this time with a little effort we can let our feelings flow easier. Also Vesta stations retrograde in Aquarius on the same day asking us to start with self-acceptance. An air of inner detachment would be very helpful and healing.
By the end of June things heat up considerably again, as the planets align in a Grand Cross again like they did last year between June and September in 2010. There is currently a powerful T-Square in effect with Pluto at the apex and Saturn and Uranus in opposition in Libra and Aries.
As the planets (starting with the Sun) move through Cancer, they bring a series of changes, leading to a very real transformation in circumstances. Beginning with the New Moon and Partial Solar Eclipse on July 1, 2011, which kicks off this transition. We were initially introduced to these situations a year ago when the aspects first aligned and now we can finally resolve something put the past behind us and move forward fearlessly.
On June 26th as the Sun in Cancer squares Uranus in Aries a surprising development is thrusting us into the unknown. Things could get quite emotional, but if we can overcome insecurities and move forward in fearlessness and trust there can be a real breakthrough. The Sun then makes an opposition to Pluto on June 28th asking for a complete let go, which taking a cue from the Harold Camping who is experiencing this aspect very profoundly, this could feel like the end of the world.
But it needn’t be that dire; all this suggests is a profound transformation in consciousness. And Pluto is all about resurrection, while the Sun in Cancer is about mothers, birth and nurturing. As you move toward the Cancer New Moon and Eclipse on July 1, 2011 consider this a period of release before re-birth.
Let go of what supposedly brings a semblance of security, either material or emotional. Relationships, business and personal are undergoing deep changes at this time. Let go of past conditioning that prevents you from living in the reality of the present. Let go of emotional baggage, attachments, obsessive or co-dependent behavior so something healthier can take root.
The Cancer New Moon also (widely) opposes Pluto and completing the Grand Cross alignment. If we remain fluid and avoid clinging to what is undeniably changing we can flow a lot easier with this transition as we renew and re-birth.
It may seem we’ve been here before – but with Jupiter in Taurus making a solid trine to Pluto, there is more stability and grounding for the changes being asked of us. Make no mistake none of these changes will be easy but these are a necessary part of progress.
As you can see, June is going to be a busy month with the world spinning just a little faster than it has. But the Eclipses in Gemini and Sagittarius suggest if we step out of our heads and take a great big leap of faith there is an abundant new reality beckoning on the horizon, waiting for us to recognize how blessed and truly lucky we are.
